We’ve got another SmackDown in a Nutshell, and it’s last week tonight.

Yes, a little confusing, perhaps…but last week WWE filmed two shows back to back…and what was taped last week is now our show tonight.

Get it?

OK, good.

Now, it’s the true and legit go-home show. Superstars are already in Saudi Arabia, but they made sure to give us one last burst of what to look forward to.

I’d bet at least one focal point should be LA Knight taking on Roman Reigns, especially with how last week went down.

But, as big as one match might be…one match does not make Crown Jewel.

How about the latest with John Cena and Solo Sikoa?

Logan Paul and Rey Mysterio, as they await their title match?

You get the idea. Lots to get into, so let’s press play, it’s time…

Be kind, rewind and enjoy this Nutshell!

Best Match of the night:

Bianca and Bayley was good.

I liked the weigh in segment. Short and to the point, and a little different for WWE…and Logan is totally winning tomorrow.

Worst match of the night:

I don’t know. Maybe Charlotte and Shotzi against the tag champs in a non-title clash, but not for why you’d think.

We have yet another mash-up team earning a shot at the titles, perhaps…but…we have an actual tag team watching them in the back.

WWE has women’s tag team specialists, or as close to it as we may see…and they don’t trust them? Not sure what’s up there.

Alba and Isla, and there are others…

Crowd Chants of the Night:

Good crowd, but no chants of note.

Star of the Night

To anyone talking tonight, for not screwing up the days…I salute you.

Spot of the Night:

I know what you are saying…how can words be a spot…but the promo action between Knight and Reigns was fun.

And I did love Butch not waiting for Pretty Deadly, slugging them in slow motion during their pose.

Jobber of the Night:

Not tonight

Upset of the Night:

Solo and Heyman, probably…after Cena called Sikoa a discount version of Taz.

And ya know what? I had not noticed that resemblance…but there it is.

Not in looks of course…one is bigger…but in the mannerisms and all? It kind of fits.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

I mean, we knew he could…but they never let him…but Solo spoke…at length.

Botch of the night:

Not anything I think we need to find and complain about.

Commentary of the night:

As with the roster, I give the commentators credit for not screwing up the lines about Crown Jewel “being tomorrow”.

LOL Moment of the night:

KO, as we came out of commercial…”Hey Waller…Taylor Swift can kick your ass”

That WWE keeps telling us that the show the night before Crown Jewel is live and in the United States.

Like, give it up already. We know the roster is in the Middle East. We have social media, we can look up that it’s nearly a day of travel.

Noteworthy Moment:

B-Fab, who miraculously survived those cuts not long ago, has resurfaced…and she went right to Lashley to discuss something. Interesting.

I feel like having Damage CTRL banned from ringside opens the door for that Kairi Sane return. Maybe?

Overall lowlights:

WWE should stop with the taped shows while telling us that the show is live, and that the roster is going to make it to Riyadh in less than the required length of time.

I’ve said this before, I will say it again…shows like this are a perfect excuse to have an NXT showcase.

Either let NXT “take over” SmackDown” for the night (like back when Superstars had travel issues getting back from Saudi Arabia), or…you know…let NXT run a TakeOver and use the 2 hour timeslot.

Live, fresh talent, why not? I don’t see it as a bad thing.

Overall highlights:

For me, that I didn’t catch spoilers for tonight. That’s me not going crazy looking for them as much as anything else, but it was a plus.

And, taped or not, we had a pretty strong show. I liked it from beginning to end.

All the talk is done, the hype has been delivered…Crown Jewel is barely half a day away…should be a good one!
