A recent report reveals an interesting status update for John Cena and this weekend’s WWE Crown Jewel premium live event (PLE).

WWE stars booked for this Saturday’s major PLE are set to fly out Thursday, November 2nd. However, according to a PWInsider report, Cena will not be joining them on that flight to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
That’s because the former 16-time WWE Champion is already there. He flew to the Saudi capital ahead of time.
No word on why the wrestling legend traveled to the PLE before all the other WWE superstars. He’s the only exception to traveling with the rest of the roster set for Crown Jewel.
The future WWE Hall of Famer is looking to score his first on-screen win for the company in five years at the big event. He’s set to face Solo Sikoa of the Bloodline stable.
The major WWE star has been with the company since 2000. Still, in recent years he’s dropped down to part-time status, thanks to Hollywood projects calling.
At the age of 46, he still has a little wrestling left in him, but his career is clearly winding down. However, thanks to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike and his schedule opening up, fans have gotten to see him in action a lot more as of late.
He’s been profiled regularly on Friday Night SmackDown recently and appeared during high-profile PLE’s like Money in the Bank (MITB), Superstar Spectacle, Payback, and Fastlane. The superstar is not only a 16-time WWE champion, tying the record for most title reigns with the iconic “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, he’s a five-time United States Champion, four-time WWE Tag Team Champion, MITB winner for 2012, and has won two Royal Rumbles, one in 2008, one in 2013.
