Candice LeRae seemingly suffered some sort of injury during this week’s WWE RAW, and WNZ has an update.
Status Of Candice LeRae
During this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW, LeRae faced off against Xia Li. The bout was Li’s first match on television in months, but sadly, it only lasted about a minute.
The bout was stopped after Xia connected a combo move of a spin kick and knee strike on her opponent. She went down, and it looked like she had been knocked out.
Trainers ran to check on the star, as well as Indi Hartwell. Dave Meltzer recently talked about the incident during Wrestling Observer Radio.
He notes that the wrestling talent is okay, and stopping the match was part of a storyline angle. During the discussion, both Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted that the star did a great job of selling the spot, but the referee did seem awkward during the entire thing.
Still despite this, Dave states that maybe the entire segment was meant to be “awkward”. After all, if it appeared scripted then the fans might not believe that she was injured.
This might very well be an angle to help build Xia Li, moving forward. Especially since she hasn’t been used for a while.
LeRae entered WWE NXT in 2017 and would remain with the brand until August 2021 when she took time off due to her maternity leave. She and her hubby Johnny Gargano would welcome their first son, Quill Gargano in February 2022.
She returned to wrestling in May of that year, entering the Red brand. She’s been there ever since.
So, the good news is that the WWE superstar is not injured. It’ll be interesting to see how this storyline continues, moving forward.
