AEW’s Wheeler Yuta Injured During Kenny Omega Match

AEW is preparing for the return of their Blood & Guts Match. It is set for July 19 from Boston as The Elite take on The Blackpool Combat Club.

Already, the match is down one participant. While Bryan Danielson walked away with victory at Forbidden Door 2, he fractured his arm in the final 10 minutes.

Now, we are learning another member of The Blackpool Combat Club is hurt. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how AEW’s Wheeler Yuta suffered a hamstring injury in the match with Kenny Omega on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

The belief is he suffered a partial tear. Therefore, he is still listed to be part of the Blood & Guts Match.

In the past, the Blood & Guts Match has received mostly positive feedback. Since it airs on TV and the match goes around 45 minutes, there are several commercial breaks. Even with picture-in-picture, it hurts the match.

With so many entrants surrounded by a massive cage, it would allow Yuta to not work as much. He can rely on other members of The Blackpool Combat Club to take the big shots.

The Elite still need one more member for their team. It seems like AEW is trying to bring in Kota Ibushi. He and Omega have plenty of history in NJPW and that would be a huge score for AEW; especially if they can bring him in for more matches.

There is a little bit of time before the Blood & Guts Match, but it is getting close. Hopefully the participants can remain healthy and Yuta will also be good to go.
