In the past, MITB has been used to propel superstars in the main event scene. Typically, the winner has a good chance of successfully cashing in on a world title. Although, the title has seen some bad luck as of late with the winner of briefcase not leaving with gold.
In fact, Austin Theory won last year and became the first person to challenge for a belt that was not the WWE Championship or World Heavyweight Championship.
With Roman Reigns now Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for over 1,000 days and no signs of him dropping it, that could mean the World Heavyweight Championship could be in more danger.
Seth Rollins won the title at last week’s Night of Champions by defeating AJ Styles. A feud between LA Knight and Rollins, who are both over, could make for a great story.
