We know it would be memorable, but the big surprise on Roman Reigns’ 1,000th day as champ stunned us all.

Probably.

I think the smart fans knew it was a matter of time before an Uso-or both-turned on their cousin.

The cracks had been showing for months. In some ways, even longer than what Sami Zayn experienced.

Indeed, as Sami Zayn enjoyed breaking free from the Bloodline, he was quick to remind Jimmy and Jey of life before the Bloodline. Taking things back to the earliest days of this now 1,000 day reign.

One way or the other, we expected a big surprise on Roman Reigns‘ 1,000th day as champ, and what happened in Jeddah did not disappoint.

So, let’s discuss…

Big Surprise On Roman Reigns’ 1,000th Day As Champ

If you somehow did not watch the show, or have not caught up…turn away now.

Spoilers ahead, so you’ve been warned.

The tag title match was the main event in Jeddah, because Roman Reigns.

Going in, you had to figure this would go one of a few ways.

WWE could have decided to put the tag titles on Reigns and Solo Sikoa…but thankfully, did not.

They could have opted for a clean win by Sami and Kevin, with Solo taking the pin.

Or, we’d get some outside interference, leading either to a pin or a DQ. In no scenario did I remotely think Roman Reigns would take a pinfall here…and I was not wrong.

Once we had a referee get taken out, you just knew we were getting that interference. The question was…would it help or hurt the Tribal Chief?

And…as the clip shows…it hurt him. The kicks surely registered physical discomfort…but his Bloodline is imploding.

Sure, he might still have Heyman and Solo Sikoa…but Jimmy Uso has had enough. Will Jey side with his brother?

Of course, that will be what we have to watch for on the June 2nd SmackDown. For that show, we’ve got a scheduled 1,000 days celebration, but after the end of Night of Champions?

I can’t think Roman Reigns will be in a good mood.

What might be the bigger question is…where does the Bloodline go from here?

Could we see Jey not stick with Jimmy?

Will Jimmy get a title shot at Roman now?

Would an Uso…could an Uso…be the one to pin the Tribal Chief and end the 1,000 days reign?

That seemed unfathomable at one point, but now…who knows?

I mean, not long ago, you probably wouldn’t have expected Sami Zayn to be a main event act, but the last year has changed a lot of minds.

It is fitting that the Bloodline would be built by the Usos and Reigns, and that the trio would be responsible for it’s demise.

Short of Paul Heyman finding a few other Samoan relatives of previous WWE Superstars (which…could happen), we might really and truly be seeing things nearing the end.

Could this wrap up at SummerSlam in Detroit? Right now, that seems somewhat likely.

But, the Bloodline saga has been a gold mine for WWE…so is it possible that they find a way to drag this out until Survivor Series or beyond?

In the world of scripted sports entertainment, anything is possible.

Heyman and Reigns couild easily ostracize Jimmy and Jey, and perhaps go deeper into the Bloodline for some new faces to support the Tribal Chief.

It could add a chapter or two to the story, and nothing would surprise me.

But, at Night of Champions, we did get a big surprise on Roman Reigns’ 1,000th day as champ, and it was one surprise he won’t soon forget.
