This should not be a shock, but Bryan Danielson’s injury costs fans huge match at this month’s All In show.
The massive AEW PPV is set to fill up Wembley Stadium in England soon enough, but one star will not wrestle on the card.
Bryan Danielson, one of the company’s top draws, suffered a broken arm during his Forbidden Door match not long ago.
Initially, the hope was it was a minor break and he would not miss All In. After all, the American Dragon broke his arm during the match…and finished the match.
In fact, he won the match with a finisher that relies heavily on both of his arms.
And yet, days after the show, it was revealed that the broken arm was much worse than expected, and Danielson would be on the shelf for months.
So much so that any hopes for All In were gone. But also, All Out (which is only a week later).
There’s an outside chance he is back for the big Grand Slam episode of Dynamite…but that is still an unknown.
So, what has this injury meant?
Danielson’s Injury Costs Fans Huge Match
Since nothing was ever announced, no one knew for sure what might have been.
Sure, there’s been speculation, but it wasn’t as though we had a confirmed match that had to be cancelled due to the injury.
Now, however, we’ve heard convincing reports that indicate there were legit plans for Danielson at All In, and they were all but announced.
At least two sources, Fightful and TJR, have confirmed that, had he been healthy, the member of Blackpool Combat Club was locked in to battle Kenny Omega.
Sadly, we will not get that match in August. Perhaps it will still happen down the road a bit.
And now that Omega has re-signed with the company, there’s plenty of time to make that match happen.
