More Details On The Elite’s New AEW Deals

Not only is the company celebrating 200 Dynamite shows, but they are also celebrating contract extensions for four of their top stars. A new report sheds more light on The Elite and their extended deals with the promotion.

According to Fightful Select, one of the new agreements is reportedly “at least” four years. It’s not known if this is the case for all the deals.

It’s also unclear if all the contracts match up, which would mean their agreements wouldn’t all expire at the same time. The promotion and The Elite were noted to have reached these contracts over the past few weeks.

When it comes to the WWE, the organization was interested in The Elites. However, “serious” discussions between the promotion and talents never ended up coming to fruition.

CM Punk’s Return Played A Factor In Negotiations

The Fightful report also reveals the issues between The Elite and CM Punk played a factor in deal negotiations. When Punk returned to the promotion earlier this year in the spring, negotiations “slowed down”.

Still, the report also notes that the problems with CM Punk ultimately weren’t a significant factor. There’s also no word on a possible Elite/Punk feud, or if either side is open to this program.

Having said that, progress has been made when it comes to a possible bout pitting The Bucks versus FTR. This would be the first time the two tag teams faced off since April of last year.
