It has been an interesting path forward for Gigi Dolin, once one half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. Together with Jacy Jayne and Mandy Rose, the devious trio had a strong grip on the NXT women’s ranks for quite some time. That dominance came to an abrupt halt when WWE released Rose over her continued insistence on producing risque content. In her defense, that has been quite lucrative for the former NXT Women’s Champion.

Since that change, Jayne and Dolin have ultimately gone their separate ways. Fans had noticed that Dolin has been off television for a bit now, and speculation was rampant. Some were even concerned that she was held off due to no creative plans, and that perhaps she would end up released.

There is some news…

Now, however, there may be some clarity. According to the Wrestling Observer, they are reporting that Gigi Dolin will miss extended time due to tearing her ACL. Thus far, that report remains unconfirmed-however Fightful is working to get that confirmation. Whether it is an ACL tear or otherwise, Sean Ross Sapp did seem to at least determine that, knee or otherwise, she is dealing with a major injury. The word is that Gigi Dolin will miss at least the remainder of 2024.

If it is confirmed to be an ACL tear, those can take six to nine months on average-but no two cases are exactly the same. Depending on if that is her injury, and if so, when she sustained it, that will go into establishing the timeline. Assuming it happened not so recently, she may have already had surgery and be on the road to recovery. Either way, it does seem like Gigi Dolin has a major injury to deal with.

And, if she has indeed torn her knee, she becomes another NXT female Superstar to go down with a major injury. Cora Jade is already rehabbing her own knee injury. And though she has graduated to the main roster, Shotzi did blow out her own knee while returning for a match in NXT. Other female WWE Superstars are working their way back from similar injuries, including the recent returned-to-TV Sonya Deville and the still-out Charlotte Flair.

We should know for sure soon enough, but it seems like we may not see Dolin in a WWE ring again until some time in early 2025.
