It might have felt like a regular Saturday for most. For Daria Berenato and Toni Cassano, it was much more as they were married.
Daria Berenato is best known to WWE fans as Sonya Deville.
People Magazine was there with all the highlights.
The ceremony took place at the The Legacy Castle in New Jersey, with 140 people present. Wrestlers present were Charlotte Flair, Andrade, Bayley, Montez Ford, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, McKenzie Mitchell, Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green, Mandy Rose and WWE commentator Vic Joseph.
Belair took the role of flower girl.
They ladies wore all white, with the guests asked to dress in traditional black attire.
Also, Maria Menounos was present as she served as the officiant.
“That was one element that was really special to me,” said Deville. “Maria and her husband Keven [Undergaro] have been a huge part of my life.”
“They’re the reason I’m in the WWE — they introduced me to that whole world. They were my mentors back when I was 20 years old bartending in Los Angeles, so they’ve been with me the entire ride.”
When it came to food, there was plenty for the wrestlers. Basically, they brought food trucks at the end to make sure nobody went home hungry.
“I know there’s so much food at the wedding, but then you drink and you party and you dance and you burn 5,000 calories on the dance floor and then you’re starving,” said Deville.
“So we have pizza and donuts on the way out, which I’m so stoked for because they’re my two favorite foods. I got to pick that!”
So, the couple next heads to Costa Rica for their honeymoon. Also, there might be no hurry on Deville’s part to return to WWE.
She suffered a torn ACL in late summer and was removed from TV. She could be close to returning, but WWE will wait until after WrestleMania 40 to before brining her back.
