After seeing her become a free agent and then quickly land with AEW, some might be asking why WWE missed out on Deonna Purrazzo.

And if you were wondering? Well, you are in luck, we have some insight.

Purrazzo has, of course, previously worked with WWE. She performed in NXT during a time when current WWE bigwig Triple H was involved.

So there was a connection, and given her abilities, surely there was interest, right?

According to Fightful, there likely was. The problem was that even with interest, there was a lack of urgency.

Among other reasons.

Why WWE Missed Out On Deonna Purrazzo

There appear to be two main reasons why the Virtuosa is now All Elite.

One reason-perhaps the primary one-is that Deonna Purrazzo wanted to be All Elite.

Another reason, which certainly helped things out, is that Purrazzo wanted to decide her fate quickly.

And, while she was happy to sign her new deal with her new company as soon as possible…WWE was not on her timeline.

According to the report, as she was able to negotiate at the end of 2023, she wanted to be signed and settled.

WWE had determined that any and all free agent decisions would wait until 2024.

As such, the company missed on bringing back one of the biggest women’s talents not in WWE.

However, while their snail’s pace did not help, by all accounts, she landed where she wanted to be. Swiftness from WWE likely would not have helped.

As Sapp noted, that she was able to sign quickly and debut in front of her hometown fans was just icing on the cake.

So, WWE missed out on re-signing Deonna Purrazzo. Will the former NXT wrestler do better in WWE, AEW or TNA?
