Andrade was rumored to be finishing up with AEW at Worlds End and Tony Khan seemingly confirmed the news. So, what did the boss say?
Tony Khan Confirms Andrade Is Done At AEW
2024 will see a bunch of names from WWE and AEW test their value. With many contracts up, it shall be intersting to see who signs elsewhere.
Following AEW’s Worlds End, it seems like Andrade is departing. And, many think he will be heading back to WWE.
At the Worlds End post-show media call, Tony Khan went over Andrade leaving. Basically, Khan seemed happy about the entire process.
“He’s been a huge performer in the Continental Classic,” said Khan. “He also wrestled on the other shows.”
“I wanted to keep him involved at the top. If we were able to reach an agreement, certainly he’d be someone we’d slot him in a prominent position.”
“I think we did everything we could to show that we value him. If this is gonna be the way he’s gonna leave AEW, talk about leaving on a high note with Miro tonight.”
And, Miro defeating Andrade at the final pay per view of the year was one of the better matches. CJ Perry turned on her client and is seemingly back with Miro.
The turn by CJ should not come as a surprise since Andrade was exiting the company and she needed a storyline. Therefore, pairing with her husband seems like an easy fix.
Khan said the departure of Andrade went smoothly, but that is not what others are saying. Apparently, putting the match together and the end of Andrade’s run was not easy on AEW.
Andrade is expected back at WWE, where his wife, Charlotte Flair, works. She is out until late 2024 due to a knee injury.
If Ric Flair can get out of his AEW deal, maybe a big Flair reunion is set for WWE.
