CJ Perry is best known to pro wrestling fans as Lana. That was her name in WWE, but now that she is part of AEW, will she continue to wrestle?
Will CJ Perry Wrestle For AEW?
CJ Perry entered the pro wrestling business with no experience. She has done modeling, singing, acting and several other activities to stay busy.
Then, WWE signed her to a contract in 2013. She was sent to NXT, where she worked alongside Miro.
Together, they were known as Rusev and Lana. They were given the stereotypical personas of not liking Americans.
After being promoted to the main roster, they were given a decent push. It also saw Miro win the United States Championship before dropping it to John Cena at WrestleMania.

At this point, WWE looked to split the real life couple up. Plans changed last minute once news of their engagement went public and WWE had to change course.
Unfortunately, both were released as WWE underwent major changes due to the pandemic. Eventually, Miro signed with AEW and about two years later, Perry did the same.
As for wresting inside a ring again, Perry does not seem interested. While speaking to Sean Sapp of Fightful, CJ Perry went was surprised to learn how many WWE matches she had, but wants to focus on other aspects of the business.
“Sean informed CJ that she had over 230 matches in the WWE, which CJ was shocked to hear. Sean asked CJ if she planned on getting in the ring to wrestle at AEW.”
“CJ said she wants to help make champions and is launching a management company and scouting. CJ was non-committal to wrestling.”
Since debuting on Collision, Perry and Miro have interacted. Seemingly, Miro does not want Perry working with other wrestlers.
This will lead to Action Andretti, who showed interest in joining Perry, taking on Miro next week on Collision.
I have to admit, the current AEW angle feels similar to what WWE did with the same characters. Maybe, AEW has a twist planned.
So, will CJ Perry be a hit in AEW even if she does not wrestle again?
