Is Kota Ibushi Totally All Elite?

AEW is known for it's relationship with wrestlers from Japan, but is Kota Ibushi totally All Elite

AEW is known for it’s relationship with wrestlers from Japan, but is Kota Ibushi totally All Elite?

The question comes up as Ibushi has now appeared on AEW television for three matches.

Tony Khan has signed numerous international talents to deals, but he’s also had plenty of short term or one off type deals.

His flexibility and creativity there keeps bringing in new and exciting talents.

Like Kota Ibushi.

But, Ibushi is a Japanese star, and there’s never been any indication that he wanted or planned to move to the United States.

That being said, we’ve seen other international talents change their minds about living arrangements…so what is going on with Ibushi?

Is Kota Ibushi Totally All Elite?

According to a report, which was an interview with Ibushi himself that was translated from his native Japanese…yes, he is indeed All Elite.

Now, according to the star himself, his AEW contract is even more flexible than Khan is known for providing.

Many talents had flocked to AEW because of a lighter schedule and the ability to book matches outside of All Elite Wrestling.

Per Kota Ibushi’s interview, he has similar language in his new AEW deal, but with his own twist.

He noted that his contract allows for fewer matches than typical, because he stressed that he is based in Japan and has no plans on changing that.

On top of that, he did confirm that the deal, as with others, allows him to work for companies outside of the Jacksonville based promotion.

Now, there wasn’t anything said about what companies he could work for while under contract to AEW, or which ones he could not.

About the only one that you’d expect on that list would be WWE. Given that the two companies just don’t get along and may never…that’s just a given.
