Some somber news, as AEW star CJ Perry recently announced via social media that she’s in the hospital due to a finger infection that has spread. More on this story, below.
AEW Star CJ Perry Has Surgery
Perry originally hopped on X/Twitter Saturday to reveal that she’s been in the hospital due to an infection in her finger that spread to her arm. She updated fans via the platform on Monday to note that she was going into surgery and had been in the ER and hospital for “over 50 hours”.
Real-life hubby, Miro, has also been updating fans via his Instagram story, as well. As you can see, Perry went into surgery on the evening of Monday, December 18th.
Looks like the surgery went well, with Miro posting a photo of Perry eating, with quite the buffet choices of food, in the early morning of Tuesday, December 19th. See below.
The AEW star was originally scheduled to act as Andrade El Idolo during his CMLL return in Arena Mexico this past Friday, December 15th. She pulled out of that event as well as Saturday’s AEW Collision show due to her condition.
CJ Perry’s AEW Storyline
She’s in a storyline where she’s chosen to be in El Idolo’s corner. This is something Miro does not approve of.
Perry became All Elite during the All Out pay-per-view (PPV) this past September. She attempted to “save” Miro during a post-match attack from Powerhouse Hobbs.
Later that month, CJ gave an interview noting that Miro had changed, and she would be managing other clients. Miro attacked Action Andretti after he showed interest in being managed by Perry, which deterred him.
Still, when November hit, she officially began managing Andrade. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next, now that Miro has broken kayfabe on social media.
