He suffered an unfortunate injury, but one Superstar is expected back very soon.

Injuries never happen at a great time, right? Like, no one wants to suffer one, obviously.

But the worst time for it might be when a barely pushed Superstar is being primed to get a world title shot.

And that is effectively what happened to AJ Styles.

Months away from Crown Jewel, reports were out that had us looking at a possible AJ Styles-Roman Reigns title clash.

And just as fast as we’d heard about it and could get excited for it, the Phenomenal One suffered a broken ankle and those plans fell apart.

Not that I am complaining about where they pivoted to, but Styles versus Reigns would have been really good.

Maybe we will still get that match eventually.

According to PWInsider, we could see that get set up really soon.

Per the report, Styles is expected to return on SmackDown on November 10th.

Whether AJ comes back to go back after Reigns and revive that old plan remains to be seen.

For that matter, we don’t even know if Roman Reigns leaves Saudi Arabia with that prized title, or if his run comes to an end shy of 1200 days.

Regardless, getting a top Superstar such as the former world champion in Styles would be huge.

And, ahead of Survivor Series and some other expected massive returns, the timing works out.

Though, perhaps with the Good Brothers off television and Styles out for his own recovery, the move to be made might have been saving him for a Rumble return?

After all, following Survivor Series, WWE doesn’t have a premium live event until January’s Rumble.

While there’s nothing wrong with Styles working television matches…I wouldn’t have hated giving him an extended time off and using a surprise return for him in Tampa.
