With the whispers about Will Ospreay getting louder…is WWE about to land a top international star?

One not named Ospreay, even?

In a word…maybe.

Nothing seems to be done quite yet, but per PWInsider, discussions between WWE and top star Giulia are at such an advanced stage that she is expected in Orlando this month.

Such a move points to a strong chance that WWE will add her to their roster, once again giving their women’s ranks a top rising talent to work with.

Should she indeed sign with the company and presumably start work at the Performance Center, she would represent the second major signing for the WWE women’s roster.

Jade Cargill, of course would be the first.

And, if you wanted to argue for Kairi Sane to be included, fine-though I excluded her because she’s a known talent and had already worked with WWE.

Even more significant, Giulia is currently the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. This is the same title that NJPW effectively created for Mercedes Mone.

Giulia defeated Willow Nightingale for it; Nightingale took the belt off of Mone after she suffered an injury that has kept her out of the ring since.

In case that didn’t sink in…nearing a signing of a current champion is a big deal. Presumably for legal reasons, her contract status is such that negotiations can take place.

Without worrying about that…assuming that she signs on the dotted line, her NXT debut should be fun to watch (unless they somehow allow her a main roster debut, perhaps at the Royal Rumble?).

The future looks bright if you are a fan of the WWE Women’s Division (including NXT here).

Aside from Cargill and possibly Giulia, you’ve got some exciting young women doing their best (like Tiffany Stratton).

Liv Morgan should be back soon, and in 2024 perhaps we see post-baby returns from Alexa Bliss and Carmella as well.

If booked right, all three brands should have some really exciting women’s clashes soon!
