When someone gets hurt, we always wonder how long they will be out…so is an injured AEW star close to returning?

In this particular case, the injured star has been down over a year, and before she went down, she was one of the more heavily used talents in the AEW women’s division.

If you have yet to figure out who, the star in question is none other than Serena Deeb.

Deeb suffered a significant injury over a year ago on AEW Dark. Fans may be missing her…the division may be missing her…and we may not have to wait long to see her back in the ring.

Per Fightful, Deeb had been seen backstage during the October 13th edition of Collision.

Now, her being behind the scenes does not mean she is close to coming back…but it has to be seen as an encouraging sign.

As the report noted, up until last Saturday, no one had reportedly seen Deeb backstage since she got injured.

Sometimes, talent stick around to be close to friends, trainers and resources. For a good current example, Dakota Kai is still rehabbing from her shredded knee…but she’s been very noticeable on WWE television recently.

In Serena Deeb’s case, she has been beyond scarce.

There could be many reasons for that, of course. In a lot of cases of severe injuries, there is a lot of recovery and intense rehab, which isn’t conducive to traveling.

Plus, there is a mental aspect to it all…sometimes, you don’t want to go visit friends doing what you want to do, but cannot do, because of that injury.

Whatever her reasons were, having her back for Collision, just back stage, has to be a positive sign.

Considering how long she’s been on ice, it seems like a good bet that the former NWA champion may be back with AEW soon.
