It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen her…so what’s going on with Serena Deeb?
Considering what she was doing and the success she was having, it’s worth asking considering she’s been off television.
Specifically, we last saw her on television nearly a year ago.
The problem is, there are at least two reported reasons explaining Deeb’s lengthy absence.
Both are interesting. That both of them are being put out at the same time to explain her absence is what makes things really interesting.
On one hand, Fightful has reported that Deeb has been missing time with an injury.
As that explanation goes, it was allegedly put forth by and confirmed by Deeb herself.
But…that isn’t the only explanation.
What’s Going On With Serena Deeb?
At the same time, other sources within AEW have shared a narrative that Deeb has been off television, missing extensive time, due to a clash with management.
As that story goes, Deeb was getting upset about how much time she was getting on television and how she was being utilized.
Things got heated between Deeb and management, including Tony Khan.
As this one unfolds, it’s said that management went so far as to share match run times with the AEW star to prove a point.
For this one, Serena Deeb’s side did not confirm, nor did they deny the report.
So, which one is it?
Is Deeb out of action, recovering from injury?
Or is Serena on the sidelines because she and management clashed, with the talent pushing for more exposure than leadership was giving her.
For what it’s worth, it isn’t impossible for both to be true.
Deeb might have needed time off due to some injury, but the extended time off could be a result of a clash between her and the head office.
For now, we don’t have clarity either way, but perhaps Deeb will return soon and answer everything.
