It’s been a big week for both Becky Lynch and NXT. Not only did Big Time Becks become the new NXT Women’s Champion, but the show saw a jump in the ratings during her match.

Win-Win Situation For Both Becky Lynch & NXT

The WrestleMania main eventer became the new NXT Women’s Champion this week, a title that has evaded during her WWE run. As such, she’s officially become a Grand Slam WWE Champion.

That’s not the only good news for the WWE. According to WrestleNomics.com, NXT’s 9:45 quarter-hour that saw Tiffany Statton defend her title against Becks drew in 927,000 fans.

In fact, the eight-minute overrun brought in 1,061,000 viewers. Stratton held her own during her bout with The Man but ended up succumbing to the WWE veteran after the Manhandle Slam.

While Becks is still under the Monday Night RAW roster, there’s a good chance she could be pulling double duty on both brands, moving forward. When fellow WWE Horsewoman, Charlotte Flair held the NXT Women’s title in 2021, she continued to appear on both shows until the championship was dropped to IYO SKY at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

Lynch’s History With NXT & WWE

Becks entered NXT in 2013 and was called up to the main roster in 2015. During her tenure with the developmental brand, she never held the NXT Women’s title.

While she had some highs and lows on the main roster, it wasn’t until the 2018 SummerSlam event that she’d break up to become one of the top talents within the company. Over the years she’s held the RAW Women’s title two times, SmackDown Women’s title four, had a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship run, and won the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble.

Not to mention the fact that she was one of three women to be the first to main event WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Now, becoming the new NXT Women’s Champion, she’s officially come full circle.
