After his big anniversary match, what is the current status of Edge?
The WWE Hall of Famer’s current contract is basically done, and he has been in quite a bit of limbo.
From what we’ve heard, WWE did indeed offer the Rated-R Superstar a new contract.
As far as we know, that contract remains unsigned. Things have been on hold for a good reason…
There has been a lot of talk that Edge will be leaving the company and, rather than hanging up the boots, will go work for AEW.
Rumors of that huge move were allegedly sourced from folks within WWE, to boot.
So…
What Is The Current Status Of Edge?
Well, as fans often do, they scour the internet like (WWE.Com) for any shred of anything.
And on September 13th, fans got a massive gumdrop.
At one point, if you scanned the Superstar pages…Edge was gone.
That change was met with tons of wild speculation.
Well…not so fast.
Perhaps today was an off day for the WWE webmaster, or someone forgot to push an update…or for now, they pushed an update to shut folks up.
We shall see.
On one hand, I am sure plenty of fans don’t want to see Edge work anywhere else. After all, he said he came back to win the world title he never lost…and he never accomplished that.
And, since he came back, the locker room has gotten a lot more crowded, making another title reign seem that much more unlikely.
At the same time…as much as he’s had a part time schedule in WWE…he would have an even less crazy schedule in AEW.
Probably money equivalent to that of WWE too.
And, he’d be reunited with old buddy Christian, as well as FTR…and a host of potential dream matchups for him.
Fans may not want to see him leave…but you can see why he might.
