Simple theme for this SmackDown In A Nutshell…because we want to see what happens after SummerSlam.

Like I said, simple theme, right to the point.

It was an eventful event in Detroit. Tribal combat certainly did not go how Jey Uso had hoped, but based on what we’ve heard about things…the ending was never in doubt.

Of course, not sure how many expected Jimmy to be a deciding factor.

It isn’t all what happened at SummerSlam, of course.

Some matches didn’t happen…and here we are. We’ve got the United States Championship, in need of a fight.

Will Escobar take Theory out?

Might we see something set up for Payback?

And, last Saturday won’t quite fade so fast…because after the ending, we will find out what the Tribal Chief thinks.

So…it is time to find out…

What Happens After SummerSlam : SmackDown In A Nutshell

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!

Best Match of the night:

Mysterio over Theory? Yes please!

Worst match of the night:

I’d be fine seeing Top Dolla go back and get a re-do in NXT. New gear, more work, less green.

I mean..he nearly made an LA Knight match un-fun.

Crowd Chants of the Night:

Canadian fans are fun.

Not on the chants, but if we were doing best pop versus most heat?

Edge and LA Knight…plus Rey’s win.

Jimmy got a ton of heat…and for good reason.

Star of the Night

The winner…and your NEW United States Champion….WWE Hall of Famer….Rey Mysterio!

Only thing I ask? Please let’s not do a title versus title, Dom versus Rey match where we lose the NXT North American title in the process.

Spot of the Night:

Reigns wanted Jey to acknowledge him.

So…he did. With his foot.

And after that, after turning his back on his back-stabbing brother…he summoned Jimmy back to the ring and acknowledged him with a kick too.

Followed that by saying he was out of the Bloodline…SmackDown…and WWE.

Jobber of the Night:

Can we just go with Hit Row?

I mean, mostly Top Dolla, but they were no match for the white hot LA Knight.

Upset of the Night:

We all hoped an LWO member would take the title off of Theory.

But did you think it would be Rey?

Now things get interesting…we at first heard the Rey injury was part of a plan, and then that it was not.

If it was…and obviously tonight was…are we going to see an LWO implosion? Would it be a return of Legado and Rey gets Carlito for some backup?

I hope not, because we really don’t have another face faction, do we?

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

Theory, showing a bit of a newer mean streak, attacking Santos not once, but twice.

Didn’t quite work out for him…

Botch of the night:

Maybe it was good in-ring work, maybe it was a botch…AJ Styles and Karrion Kross had one though.

Michin and Scarlett had a spot on the outside where Michin went for a boot and hit the post, and while that probably was planned…didn’t look clean.

Commentary of the night:

I didn’t hate the trio…but it will take some getting used to.

Cole absolutely destroyed Top Dolla…again. Rapped for him on the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip hop.

LOL Moment of the night:

Edge, sharing that photo of Sheamus on Ruby’s little bike.

Noteworthy Moment:

Happy 70th Birthday, Hulk Hogan.

No shock, but Lashley and the “Suit” Profits are going to be a force on SmackDown. But…will they be the new Hurt Business?

Interesting angle for Jimmy to take. He betrayed his brother because of love…because he didn’t want him to become Roman Reigns.

And they ACTUALLY didn’t sensor the curseword.

Jey refused to respond to Jimmy, turning his back on his twin.

Overall lowlights:

Hit Row…

Wondering the worst, if we see an LWO breakup sooner than later because of the title.

Overall highlights:

LA Knight is OVER.

Edge with a nice surprise, showing up one week before his 25th anniversary night next week. His appearance sets up a match with Sheamus next week, which could be quite an interesting clash.

Really excited for what Lashley and the Profits can do. Curious what happens with MVP and Omos, but thus far, it would seem they are on separate paths.

Of course, thinking out loud…Lashley and his two…Omos plus the former Hurt Business associates? Hmmm…

And…The Bloodline rolls on. I’d bet we saw Payback get set up…but buckle up!

After the final bell:

Another good show, start to finish.

Just when you think the Bloodline is winding down, you can see why Heyman says they are in like the 3rd inning.

Also…next week should be a good show in Toronto.
