Recently, it seemed as if JD McDonagh would be joining Judgment Day. Now a new report reveals that the WWE has new plans for the faction and talent. More on this, below.
JD McDonagh Will Not Be Joining The Stable
Recent reports noted that the WWE was planning on having the talent link up with the faction to play off the history he had with Finn Balor. The company had teased a storyline between JD and the leader of Judgment Day for weeks on RAW.
With that being said, there’s been no follow-up on this, within the last month. A new report from WRKD Wrestling on Twitter indicates creative plans have stopped in the interim.
As noted from the tweet above, there’s no information as to why the arc has been halted. McDonagh was called up to the main roster on the Red brand during the brand draft.
After hitting the main roster, he worked the IC contender battle royal during the May 15th edition of Monday Night RAW. He also faced off against Dolph Ziggler resulting in a double count-out on the May 29th episode.
Since the talent lost to Apollo Crews on Main Event’s June 22nd epi. However, he then beat Crews the following week on the show.

He also defeated Akira Tozawa on Main Event’s July 6th episode. Still, the report also notes that during Monday’s pre-RAW tapings, Crews defeated the talent, and this will air during this week’s Main Event.
McDonagh’s History With The WWE
He entered NXT UK in 2017, participating in the first-ever UK Championship tournament. He’d eventually make his way to NXT 2.0 in 2021, getting drafted to the main roster earlier this year.
During his tenure with the WWE, he had a successful NXT Cruiserweight Championship reign. It’s hard to say what’s next for JD, but here’s hoping the WWE creative team can come up with something substantial.
