There is a decent good chance, Ronda Rousey could leave WWE very soon. So, that might explain what happened at Money in the Bank.
Ronda Rousey Could Leave WWE Very Soon
There were plenty of surprises at Money in the Bank, which is naturally with such an event. Still, there were a few surprises that many did see coming.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are once again the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions after defeating Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. It looked like the champs would retain, before Baszler turned on Rousey. After Baszler choked Rousey out, the new champions did not have much work left.
WWE billed it like Baszler is still the heel, with Rousey switching back to face. Not too long ago, Rousey and Baszler won the titles after Morgan had to vacate due to injury.
Then, the former MMA fighters unified the belts on SmackDown by capturing the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how Ronda Rousey could leave WWE very soon. Therefore, WWE made the quick title change.
The belief is Rousey will use the ‘hard out’ option in her contract. That means she will be off TV at SummerSlam or shortly afterwards. It was not clear if Rousey would be leaving for good, or if this would be one of the hiatuses she takes on occasion.
Look for WWE to book them opposite each other at next month’s SummerSlam and not WrestleMania 40 in the first quarter of 2024.
Rousey and Baszler started teaming frequently earlier in the year. They won at WrestleMania 39, but Rousey was dealing with an injury during that time. So, WWE waited on giving them gold until Rousey was healed.
So, since Ronda Rousey could leave WWE very soon, is this a major loss to the company?
