Ric Flair has stated in the past he is retired, but apparently the legend and now AEW talent has been medically cleared to wrestle.
Ric Flair Medically Cleared To Wrestle Again
In pro wrestling, never say never. Many wrestlers retire only to comeback for a few more matches or full-time.
For example, there is Ric Flair. He initially retired after WrestleMania 24, which was over 15 years ago.
Flair lost to Shawn Michaels and therefore had to retire. A day after losing and being forced into retirement, WWE gave “The Nature Boy” one of the greatest farewells ever.
Sadly, between owing money and still loving the business, it did not stick. In fact, Flair came out of retirement several times.
In July 2022, an event called ‘Ric Flair’s Last Match’ took place. Flair and Andrade El Ídolo defeated Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Only days later, Flair admitted he could wrestle again.
While speaking on The Wrestling Classic Podcast, Ric Flair noted how he had been medically cleared to compete. Although, for now, he is not interested.
“My health is good,” said Flair. “I’ve been cleared.”
“I can get in the ring. I’m not going to wrestle. Let’s clarify that.”
You never knew with Flair because while he does not want to wrestle now, that could change.
Not long ago, Flair signed with AEW. He has mostly been hanging-around Sting before he retires early next year.
Some think Tony Khan might book Flair vs Sting. Hopefully, that is not the case.
Flair has a ton of medical issues and turns 75 years old in February. Nobody should be competing in any physical sport at that age.
Already, he has gotten physical in AEW matches. Therefore, he might be testing the waters.
So, since Ric Flair has been medically cleared to wrestle again, will he step back inside the ring?
