Dean Malenko Underwent Surgery For Parkinson Disease

When it comes to talent, Dean Malenko is towards the top of the list. Unfortunately, his wrestling career never saw him elevated into the main event scene.

He became a household name during his time in WCW, being known as the man of a thousand holds. For the most part, he worked exclusively in the cruiserweight division.

After not being appreciated in WCW, Malenko and few others just left. Then, they appeared right away on WWE TV.

The four were Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit. Together, they were known as The Radicalz.

Due to injury, the four former WCW wrestlers did not stick around each other for too long.

Malenko stayed with WWE in backstage role for over a decade and shared his knowledge with the younger wrestlers. After departing WWE, which came as a surprise, he secured a job with AEW.

Jim Ross revealed Malenko had surgery on his brain to combat Parkinson’s Disease. PWInsider added to the story, noting how Malenko had had the surgery months ago.

“PWInsider.com is told that Malenko actually underwent the procedure towards the end of September,” the report stated. “He is not currently recovering from the surgery as it took place several months ago and he returned to his AEW duties at the beginning of November.”

Malenko knew he did had the disease for years. It seems like he is taking any measures to battle it.

From everyone at Wrestle Newz, we wish Malenko nothing but positive news about his health.
