Though it may not be the biggest question about Survivor Series this year, fans are certainly wondering…will we see RAW Vs SmackDown in Chicago?
I mean, everyone knows what the biggest question will be…even after WWE sources have said that, as of now, the company has no interest in a recently unemployed straight-edge talent.
Big Return Lined Up For Survivor Series?
But, with the two main brands now each having their own dedicated general managers…and with those general managers having some tense interactions recently, fans are buzzing about something else for the upcoming Survivor Series.
Will we see the two main brands in a red versus blue battle?
The 2022 edition of the show gave us WarGames on the main roster, which was fun (I still liked when NXT did it, but I digress).
However, in years gone by, we have seen WWE give us entire Survivor Series shows of RAW against SmackDown, champion against champion, the whole nine yards.
So…could we see this happen once again in 2023?
Will We See RAW Vs SmackDown In Chicago?
According to the Wrestling Observer, we will not see Team RAW and Team SmackDown in WarGames.
But…honestly, I wasn’t expecting that.
In my view, and in many others as well, the WarGames setup is going to likely see some Bloodline involvement for the second straight year.
Where 2022 started setting things up for the eventual Sami redemption arc, perhaps the 2023 battle sets us on a path of Jimmy versus Jay at WrestleMania?
Here’s the thing…Meltzer said not in the cage. He never said no RAW versus SmackDown match at all, or I certainly don’t take it as such.
The concept of the WarGames match is incredible, and a great homage to Dusty.
But…it would be borderline disrespectful to have a Survivor Series show without at least one or two traditional elimination tag matches, whether it be 4 on 4 or 5 on 5.
So, if I am reading the tea leaves right, my guess is we will see a big team Bloodline versus team Babyface match in the structure…but we should also see a men’s and women’s RAW versus SmackDown traditional format match.
Given everything we’ve seen so far, this scenario makes a ton of sense.
