Lexis King is still new in WWE NXT, even though many know him from AEW, and Shawn Michaels believes the son of Brian Pillman lacks structure.
Lexis King Needs Structure Says NXT’s Shawn Michaels
Before signing with WWE, Brian Pillman Jr. was part of AEW. He was featured in a decent way, but AEW eventually stopped promoting Pillman.
WWE took the chance and signed him to a deal. Before debuting for NXT, his character was changed.
Pillman, now going as Lexis King, started talking about his past and his father, the late Brian Pillman. Basically, King has nothing positive to say about his father’s legacy.
Since appearing on NXT, King has pushed himself in the middle of several feuds. As a result, the heel continues to cause problems for the brand.
During an NXT Deadline media call, Shawn Michaels went over Lexis King. The WWE Hall of Famer sees potential, but also notes how structure is needed.
“He’s been working with us” said Michaels. “He asks a lot of questions. He’s a hungry kid.”
“I think he’s someone who has adapted and adjusted to the structure that we have in NXT in a really positive way. I think he is someone that will be, I think, a prime example of what NXT can do for you because he is someone that did need that structure.”
“We want to see what he’s got. We believe there’s a lot of potential there, and again, not to say that this whole career will rest on this performance by any stretch.”
“But look, I think we, we all know the lineage, right?”
Michaels is talking about Saturday’s Deadline. King will take on Carmello Hayes, a former NXT Champion who has been dealing with his friend, Trick Williams, too.
With some structure, does Shawn Michaels have a major star in Lexis King or just another wrestler?
