After a surprising appearance on Wednesday, you might be asking yourself : Is ECW Legend Sabu fully All Elite?
That is a very valid question for a variety of reasons.
For the simplest reason?
Typically, when some new talent appears, we see the official Twitter confirmation about so-and-so being All Elite.
That hasn’t happened thus far…and seems like it won’t.
In spite of that, we do know that Sabu will be hanging around in Adam Cole’s corner this weekend.
For the other reasons? Let’s ask…
Is ECW Legend Sabu Fully All Elite?
Tony Khan put that to rest, for the moment, doing press leading up to this weekend’s big show.
But he did not slam the door on it, which could be equal parts cool and scary.
If I look past the actual randomness of having Sabu involved with a match between Adam Cole and Chris Jericho...(because while they did cross paths in ECW…they did not work either one of ECW’s best feuds or matches).
Cool, because it’s Sabu. For anyone who is a big fan of his, from ECW or elsewhere, it’s cool.
And, as a WWE Hall of Famer pointed out…
I am all for trips down memory lane, and letting some legends get a little more time in the spotlight.
What I do not want to see is someone with health issues take crazy risks and regretting it. And Sabu is known as a maniac in the ring for a reason.
Interestingly enough, another former ECW peer of Sabu’s had another reason why this random surprise wasn’t necessarily the best idea.
And I have to say…he’s not wrong (and, this is probably what’s bad about some of the Royal Rumble cameos we’ve had over the years.).
If it seems like it was just some random “surprise”, with no real relevancy…and no long term purpose…there’s only so many of those you can do before they lose their impact.
That said, happy to see Sabu is in better shape to the point he can show up in AEW.
