The wrestling world has been buzzing since the new AEW show Collision was announced at the Warner Bros. Discovery upfronts. While it’s been confirmed CM Punk won’t be on the show, WNZ has an update on the conflict between him, Ace Steel, and Chris Jericho.

CM Punk, Ace Steel & Chris Jericho Situation

Fightful Select is reporting that a meeting between Punk and Jericho took place in late April to address the likelihood of Ace Steel coming back to AEW. The goal of the meeting was to create cohesiveness backstage upon Punk’s return.

As per the report, a second meeting was held between the former AEW Champion and the company. At this time, it was noted that Steel was welcome to come back to the promotion and work with him.

However, there was a “clause” that stated Steel couldn’t be present during AEW TV. As per the report, the former AEW Champion disagreed with the stipulation.

Ace hasn’t been seen in AEW since he was fired after the infamous “backstage brawl” following the All Out event last September. For fans that recall, he, Punk, Kenny Omega, as well as the Young Bucks, got into it after the media scrum.

The former WWE and Ring of Honor (ROH) star joined AEW in 2022. He was part of the promotion’s backstage team.

Sadly, he was let go months after the All Out scandal. Will he end up returning?

Meanwhile, Kenny Omega, as well as Matt and Nick Jackson, also known as The Elite, made their return on April 12th this year, during Dynamite. It’s been said that Punk is on the cusp of an AEW comeback, too.

AEW Collision will debut on Saturday, June 17th, and be the third All Elite Wrestling TV show offered to fans. Of course, Dynamite (airing on Wednesdays) and Rampage (airing on Fridays) will also still be around, too.
