Is Rush Preparing To Leave AEW For WWE?

Signing a wrestler to a contract is one thing. Keeping them happy enough to re-sign is a whole another challenge.

Typically, AEW likes to sign their talent to three year contracts, with an option to keep them around for another two years. The latest AEW wrestler who could be leaving in the near future is Rush.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they noted where Rush lands is still being decided. It does seem like AEW and WWE are the only real options. This would remove Impact Wrestling and NJPW from the conversation.

The 34 year old is a former ROH World Champion and recently departed AAA. He spent several years for the promotion.

At Double Or Nothing in 2022, Rush debuted for AEW. There, he quickly sided with Andrade El Idolo. They would continue teaming together until Andrade suffered an injury. There is some belief Andrade might actually return to WWE when his AEW deal expires.

When it comes to wins and losses, Rush did rather well in AEW. In singles action, he only began losing the past several months. Some of those defeats came opposite Bandido and Bryan Danielson.

His last match saw him team with Dralístico and Preston Vance on the May 26 episode of Rampage. On that night, The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn left the victors.

The report continued how the current AEW offer is bigger than anyone in NXT is getting.” Therefore, WWE might need to offer main roster type money if they want him to jump ship.
