Billy Gunn and Sean Waltman (X-Pac) have a lengthy history. They are best known for being part of DX, who many consider the most influential stable in WWE.
Since then, both have gone different directions. Waltman is mostly retired, while Gunn can be spotted frequently on AEW TV.
Despite being 59 years old, Gunn has remained in amazing shape. After working mostly with his sons in AEW, he then aligned with The Acclaimed.
The three really got over with fans, which culminating in The Acclaimed winning the AEW Tag Team Championship. They are considered one of the biggest draws in get over in AEW organically.
While speaking to Sportskeeda, Gunn revealed how AEW pass hiring Sean Waltman.
“I think we’ve tried to get Sean in here a couple of times,” said Gunn. “Things just didn’t work out.”
“I think if the time’s right, I think he would be a great asset because he still has huge popularity, everybody knows him, and he’s such a good guy that he would not only help the younger talent as well as be a good representative for our company. He’d be amazing if we could get him in here.”
Basically, AEW does not want to change things up with The Acclaimed. The act is working and Gunn should be credited for helping the duo get over with fans.
Waltman is currently under a legends deal with WWE. He does appear on WWE TV when they are doing something related to DX.
Both did appear together on WWE TV 2019 as DX entered the Hall of Fame. Tony Khan allowed Gunn to appear, but he was not present for the 25th anniversary to celebrate the group.
