Big E has been a member of the WWE universe for about 16 years, if you count his time in developmental. He is best know for being the enforcer to Dolph Ziggler and then part of the New Day, alongside Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Some thought he deserved to be WWE Champion and that is exactly what happened. He won Money in the Bank and then successfully cashed-in against Bobby Lashley during RAW in September 2021.

He defended the title several times, before dropping it to Brock Lesnar at the first, and only, Day 1 pay per view. A few months later, in March 2022, Big E was teaming with the New Day against Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch). On the outside, Holland connected with a belly-to-belly suplex on Big E. The spot saw the former WWE Champion land on the top of his head and bounce. He was stretched to the back as everyone feared the worst. Big E confirmed later that evening he broke his neck, but was not paralyzed.

But I am blessed to be free of pain, immensely happy and otherwise healthy. Life is good.”

He might have to accept competing inside a ring is no longer possible. Still, WWE will certainly keep him around. Even though he is unable to wrestle, he continues to represent WWE in an ambassador type role. If anything, thankfully he is not in pain as he continues to live a somewhat normal life.
