Big E Doctors Begging WWE Superstar To Retire

Becoming a professional wrestler is not easy. Most do not make it far, with a few actually becoming a regular figure on TV.

After making it to TV, winning gold is usually the next goal. For Big E, it took twelve years before he was able to be called WWE Champion.

It was a great moment as many were pulling for the former powerlifter. Then, everything changed in March 2022.

Big E broke his neck, with fractures to his C1 vertebrae and C6 vertebrae. While speaking on the Sarah O’Connell Show, Big E revealed doctors are begging him to retire.

“It’s one of those things where I just want to make the right decision,” said Big E. “I’m so thankful that I feel so good.”

“I don’t even feel like someone who had a broken neck, but I broke my C1 in two places”

“I talked to a few doctors, one who did the surgery for Tyson Kidd, who had a very severe neck injury. Also, I talked to the doctor they sent me to at USF.”

“Both doctors were like, ‘Hey, please don’t wrestle.’ Almost begging.”

“No door has been permanently closed or permanently opened or any of those things. No decision has really officially been made yet.”

“But we’ll see. I’m really thankful for health, for life, for being in such a good place.”

Thankfully, he is not paralyzed, but wrestling inside a ring might be over. Although, like Tyson Kidd, WWE could keep Big E around doing other things.

He should be an ambassador for WWE. That would be a great role for his personality and story.
