In the past, WWE likes to add in a bunch of surprise names. Outside of those from NXT, WWE mostly used talent we see on RAW or SmackDown each week.
Although, the Women’s Royal Rumble Match had an early surprise. TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace entered the match.
Now, seeing a wrestler from another promotion is rare, especially if that company has a TV deal. But, WWE did the same thing last year with Mickie James.
Overall, Grace looked great out there. That type of match is only designed for a few major spots per wrestler.
She spent around 20 minutes and interacted with a bunch of talent. One of those superstars was Natalya, who is a staple of WWE women’s division.
On Twitter, Natalya expressed interest in working with Grace under the TNA name. And, the champion liked the idea.
For now, Grade remains under contract to TNA. Although, if WWE reached out for an appearance, they must see something.
While speaking on The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T spoke about the TNA Champion.
“To see her go out and perform the way she did, when she made her walk to the ring, she looked like she belonged,” said Booker T. “She looked like she was part, I mean, not trying to take her or anything from TNA, but she fit right into the system right now.”
“I think she’s still under contract with TNA. Hopefully, if they can make some kind of a deal, where she can still work.”
“I don’t know. This TNA deal seems like it’s something that’s really real.”
Nice move by TNA allowing Grace to appear. At the same time, the decision could lead her to eventually join WWE and their hectic schedule.
