In a twist that perhaps you saw coming, perhaps you didn’t, The Rock’s daughter gets a big new job.

The move happened on the January 23rd episode of NXT, and was confirmed on air by Vic Joseph.

But the reveal effectively happened when an old friend of the black and gold brand returned to television.

Ava Raine is looking to make her own path, and that now moves forward with her serving as NXT’s youngest general manager ever.

She exited Shawn Michaels’ office, talking with someone we did not yet see.

But, based on her comments, you knew the next person coming out of the office was going to be Regal.

His television ban expired recently. He had been required to stay off of WWE television for a year following his early release from AEW.

We had already seen him return to a role in front of the camera when he discussed his son’s Japan opportunity.

He was seen on NXT television to talk about her responsibilities and wish her well. She noted that she has big shoes to fill, and she is not wrong.

I can’t help but wonder what this will mean for William Regal.

Some have speculated that we might see him form a WWE version of his last faction.

And, in that same vein, we have heard a lot of talk about British Strong-style.

Tell me this wouldn’t make a lot of sense: seeing Regal, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate in the results every week on RAW (if traded or drafted) or SmackDown.

It will be interesting to see what the plans are for Regal, and where he lands.

The surprisingly bigger takeaway though is that Ava Raine has suddenly landed a potentially amazing opportunity. Where that might take her, we will just have to wait and see.
