Even though she has barely been on TV, how is The Rock’s daughter, Ava Raine and her WWE progress? And, AEW was unable to sign a top name.

Ava Raine – WWE Progress

The Rock’s daughter signed with WWE and there were lots of questions. We are still learning more about the 21 year old, who now goes by Ava Raine.

From the start, she was put into a major NXT spot. She became part of Schism, a cult that is led by Joe Gacy alongside Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid.

To hype Deadline, Shawn Michals spoke about Raine’s current spot in NXT.

“From a character standpoint, she’s been a huge kick-in-the-shorts, shall I say, for the Schism,” said Michaels. “I think she’s doing fantastic.”

“We were just talking about it the other day, just her facials, she looks fantastic. She’s really getting comfortable, I think, and that’s the most important thing.”

“She’s really beginning to, as we say, get into this character and enjoy the process.”

Fans have not seen what Raine can produce inside the ring. So far, she has cut some promos and stood at ringside.

She has gigantic shoes to fill as there is only one, The Rock. Like her dad, she is getting used to being on the mic; where he shined.

Raine has a long road ahead of her, but she is in the right place. If she can handle the physicality, we could be looking at the next big star.

There was a popular trend fans were seeing lately. Once someone’s contract was up or they were released, AEW often signed the wrestler.

WWE released a ton of talent, with AEW picking which wrestlers they wanted. They have done the same with other promotions, but nothing like what was happening with former WWE superstars.

And, they might have offered Josh Alexander a deal if he did not re-sign with Impact Wrestling. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Alexander noted how AEW was an option while he was a free agent.

“It was definitely on the table and it was definitely a thought and all this other stuff,” said Alexander. “But I wouldn’t say it was too close because with all the stuff that had been happening and IMPACT I really felt like [I should stay].”

“And like also happening in AEW, with me watching every week. I still watch everything to this day.”

“And at the time watching AEW, it didn’t look like a lot of people were getting opportunities to do that stuff outside of like the top 20 people that were on the roster.”

“You’d see people shuffle in and out and shuffle in and out it out there. They get their runs for a few weeks, and they go back to shorter matches on AEW Dark and it was just IMPACT has been so good to me.”

Alexander is currently the second longest reigning Impact Wrestling World Champion. Also, has held their X-Division and Tag Team gold as well.
