Winning and losing matters in pro wrestling, but too much. There are wrestlers who rarely lose and others classified a jobbers, losing almost every match.

I would not classify Jinder Mahal has either, although he is clearly not returning to the main event scene. Still, he defeated Ricochet from Montgomery, Alabama, this past Saturday.

In the process, he snapped his losing streak, which was at 1,870 days.

Prior, Mahal last won at a live event going all the way back to December 7, 2018. Since then, half of the WWE roster has changed.

That occasion saw Mahal win a Fatal Four-Way match against Curt Hawkins, Heath Slater, and Rhyno. All three of his opponents have not worked for WWE in years.

This is Mahal’s second run in WWE. The first was memorable at the end when he was part of 3MB. He was rehired in 2016 and there were big plans.

Mahal went from jobber to WWE Champion overnight. The fans did not like the idea and after a few months AJ Styles won the title.

Since then, Mahal has never returned to main event scene. He did spend part of 2023 in NXT and was in India to help WWE expand.

Mahal did wrestle Seth Rollins on RAW. He lost, but the bigger story is Rollins being injured and perhaps having to vacate the title.

There is no heat on Jinder and he is well liked backstage. Triple H is a big fan, but probably not Tony Khan.
