It seems to be that time of year for both major companies, but Daniel Garcia’s AEW contract is expiring soon.
What’s more, according to a report from Fightful, as of that story, the company had not offered him a new deal.
Garcia himself confirmed that his existing AEW deal runs out soon.
Many inside and outside of the company view him as a rising star. Like, someone with whom AEW can build and grow.
But, in spite of that kind of praise and promise…his AEW run thus far has been a bit underwhelming at times.
Forget for a moment his booking since he debuted with the company in 2021. Knowing what the future might hold makes the lack of a new deal a bit of a surprise.
Daniel Garcia’s AEW Contract Expiring Soon
His contract status is one of a few deals that the company is going to have to handle.
Of course, his status is not the biggest question mark going.
For the better part of a year, now-former AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman told everyone that as of January 1st, 2024, he was a free agent.
Some believe he actually quietly signed a new deal in 2023, but nothing was ever announced.
And some still speculate that MJF will actually be in the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble.

But, when last we saw key figures facing expiring contracts, a big deal was made about Tony Khan extending the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.
All while WWE was said to be very interested, especially in Omega.
With all of the recent wins for WWE in this semi-rivarly, you would expect AEW to push to keep every rising star and key talent.
Daniel Garcia would seem to fit that description, and yet as of now, he does not have a new deal.
