There is talk that MJF re-signed with AEW and WWE is also under the same impression, hence why they have stopped pursuing the popular wrestler.
Report Claims MJF Re-Signed With AEW, WWE No Longer Pursuing
Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) has been very honest the past year when it comes to his future. His AEW deal was set to expire early next year and he was openly talking about joining WWE.
Now, there is report stating he has re-signed with AEW. As of now, neither side has confirmed that story and they might not.
Haus of Wrestling reports MJF will stick with AEW and there has been no contact as of late from WWE.
“Several WWE sources who believe Friedman has quietly re-signed with AEW,” stated the report. “One higher-up WWE source stated that there have been ‘zero talks’ between the two sides.”
Darby Allin Likely Taking Break From AEW
“They further noted that the idea Friedman is set to enter free agency imminently is a ‘false narrative’ and that they believe he has re-signed into 2027. This is a completely in his head storyline.”
“1,000%,” another source told Haus of Wrestling. “ was told a while ago he is under a long-term deal, which is why they stopped pushing the 2024 stuff.”
There are a ton of wrestlers who have deals up next year from both WWE and AEW. It will been interesting to see who leaves and who re-signs.
Not too long ago, MJF and Tony Khan were on totally different pages. It saw MJF not appear on AEW for several months.
Currently, “The Devil” works as a face and holds two titles. He has been AEW World Champion for just over a year and also won the ROH Tag Team Championship towards the end of the summer.
At Full Gear, MJF successfully defended both belts. Although, he continues to be haunted by someone under is very own devil mask.
Now that MJF has re-signed with AEW, did he make the right call?
