Update On Adam Cole’s Injury Status

After going down to a freak accident, we have an update on Adam Cole's injury status.

After going down to a freak accident, we have an update on Adam Cole’s injury status.

Cole messed up his ankle jumping off the entry ramp during this year’s special Dynamite: Grand Slam show in Queens.

Want to bet we don’t see that stage again? OK, maybe we do…but I will bet that Cole doesn’t do that again.

Still, even after suffering that injury, we were still seeing Adam Cole appear on AEW television, but that is probably going to change.

According to the Wrestling Observer, the former NXT Champion has now had both of his surgeries to fix up his lower leg.

The final planned surgery was said to have been performed on October 12.

While we do know that the ankle damage has now been surgically repaired, we’ve still not heard of any official timeline for his rehab and possible return.

With a broken ankle or other similar issue, we might see someone miss around two months, maybe a bit more as they rehab and knock off ring rust.

However, this was not a simple broken bone. As Cole told the wrestling world, he broke his ankle in three places.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, he also tore ligaments.

So, put that all together, and the time frame for his recovery is just not something we have a handle on at the moment.

Off the top of my head, I can’t remember a similar wrestler or even another professional athlete with a similar set of injuries, so there’s no good comparison.

Like, a torn up knee could take the better part of 6 to 9 months.

As an interesting note, thus far, the injured Cole remains one half of the Ring Of Honor Tag Team Champions, along with MJF. For now, Tony Khan has not stripped them of the titles, with MJF defending most recently in a handicap match.
