It’s news no Superstar (or fan of them) wants to hear, but it’s been confirmed: Cora Jade suffers a major injury at a live NXT event.

The recently-returned NXT Superstar tore her ACL at a recent NXT house show. Reports came out via social media, but WWE confirmed it during the January 16 NXT broadcast.

Everyone’s rehab time is different, but these injuries tend to keep athletes out of action for approximately nine months.

This stings a lot for the rising star that is Cora Jade. Not that it wouldn’t hurt for any talent.

But, she already missed a good chunk of 2023, and had only very recently come back to NXT.

Now, just as we get on the Road to WrestleMania, she is lost for most of 2024.

The Road to WrestleMania is key, because you have to think she had an opportunity to factor into things over the coming months.

Jade came into NXT with a lot of hype, and she’s generally acquitted herself well.

As such, with the 30 woman Royal Rumble just over a week away…if indeed WWE has NXT talent involved again…you have to think that Cora Jade would have been one of the top few choices.

At least, I certainly would have.

And, whether or not she had appeared in the Royal Rumble, the RAW and SmackDown following WrestleMania have generally been major shows.

I mean, WWE calls the Monday after “the biggest RAW of the year”.

But…no call-up for Jade in April of 2024 now.

There is never a good time for an injury.

But, as with Charlotte’s knee injury, this timing is really unfortunate.

The NXT Women’s Division has remained competitive and action has been heated…but things have to move forward without Cora Jade.

Considering that she only injured the knee in the past week, when can we think she might be back?

If we assume she’s had surgery, or is about to…best case, we could see her toward the mid-to-late summer of 2024.

Or, we might not see her until the October time frame, assuming she hits the 9 month mark. And that also assumes that she has no setbacks, and WWE brings her right back.
