We already know next week is big for the company, but will WWE deliver a big surprise for the Day 1 RAW?

According to key sources, that is being worked on, with said surprise very close to being a done deal.

Just how big a surprise are we talking about here?

Per Fightful, it could be significant.

Specifically, the company is working to bring in a former WWE champion on the Day 1 show.

As of Friday’s update, there was not a ton of clarity, so we have to take this one with a grain of salt.

Will WWE Deliver Big Surprise For Day 1 RAW?

As Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp later pointed out, this could mean Kurt Angle, or this could mean Mercedes Mone.

The full report mentions that this former WWE champion would be someone not under an active WWE contract.

That would rule out the big surprise being someone like Big E, as the recovering Superstar is absolutely under contract.

At the same time, this could be someone along the lines of a Goldberg or a Batista. Both are big names, both are not under WWE contract.

Fans will surely hope it’s someone like Mone, and her own recent posts have only stoked those flames.

Something else to keep in mind, we have the Hall of Fame ceremonies just a few months away. Could this surprise be someone showing up to become a major inductee?

If so, Batista would be an easy one (he was announced, but has yet to go in). Another such option could be Sid Vicious.

Or, someone like an AJ Lee…or as obvious as Brock Lesnar?

While The Rock would check a lot of boxes, I don’t think he’s going in yet…and I suspect the company would do everything possible to keep his appearance under wraps.

But, he’s even been teasing something, so…stay tuned.
