Serena Deeb is breaking her silence over not appearing for AEW due to suffering three seizures within the past year.
Serena Deeb Cleared To Return After Suffering Three Seizures
Serena Deeb saw her career get a resurgence in AEW. She worked with a combination of new talent and those already established.
Then, she suddenly disappeared from TV. There was talk of her not seeing eye to eye with management, but that was not the case.
On Instagram, Deeb discussed having three seizures since last October.
“Since last October, I’ve had a series of three unprovoked seizures,” said Deeb. “This has been a really dramatic time period for me and has affected my career and life.”
“In a lot of ways, it’s been really scary for me. I’ve seen a lot of different doctors and had every test imaginable.
“For the longest time, nobody could tell me why this happened. I had a recent consultation with my neurologist.”
“He confirmed that I have fully recovered, I am in good health and I have received official clearance to resume wrestling. This means I am prepared for my return.”
Her last match dates back to October 18, 2022. At the time, Deeb was running an angle where she challenged unknown names and would squash them in minutes.
AEW hired Deeb after her debut against Thunder Rosa. And, Rosa remains out of action for over a year due to injury.
It will be intersting to see what Tony Khan does with Deeb. She has been medically cleared, but there still might be hesitation in booking her for a match.
Maybe, she can work backstage some more. She was great in the ring and hopefully she can transfer that knowledge to the future of the game.
So, will Serena Deeb make a successful return to AEW or are there other options she should pursue?
