Matt Jackson Reacts To Wife, Dana Massie, Leaving AEW

We are seeing a bunch of changes behind the scenes at AEW. Kevin Sullivan and QT Marshall, who both worked backstage since the beginning, have left.

Also, it was noted Rafael Morffi and Dana Massie are departing as well. Massie might be best known as the Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer for AEW and wife of Matt Jackson.

AEW wanted to re-sign her, like they did with The Elite’s Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and “Hangman” Adam Page. In the end, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio how it came-down to the All Out brawl in 2022.

“With everything that happened over the last year with her husband and brother-in-law [Nick Jackson] vilified and never defended and never being allowed to defend themselves [because of NDAs] and the company never defending them, it made it really difficult,” said Meltzer.

“They [The Elite] all agreed to the majority vote [to stay with AEW or go to WWE together]. That was one of the things they all agreed to so they stayed.”

“With her, I think it just got too tough. I’m sure there are other things, too, but that was a lot of it.”

“The fact that she felt they were never defended at a time when they probably should have been defended by the company. There was the situation where [CM] Punk went after her too and she was never defended either at that point.”

Matt Jackson did take to social media to address his wife leaving, writing the following.

Hopefully, we are done with CM Punk problems.
