Kenny Omega is one of the top wrestlers on the AEW roster, but he just revealed that he is out indefinitely with a medical issue.
Kenny Omega Out Indefinitely With Medical Issue
It is Friday, so most pro wrestling fans are getting ready for WWE SmackDown and AEW Rampage. Before those shows aired, we learned some unfortunate news.
AEW’s own Kenny Omega has suffered some sort of injury and he noted on Twitter how he is ‘out indefinitely.’ There was no further update, outside of a picture Omega shared with him in a hospital bed.
This does not seem like something he saw coming. On Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, Omega and Chris Jericho spoke about the tag division.
It is funny as they went from enemies to somewhat friends. They even agreed on Wednesday how they could not trust each other.
They stated how they were cashing-in their title shot at Worlds End on December 30. That would see Omega & Jericho (going as The Golden Jets) take on tag team champions, Ricky Starks and Big Bill.
It seems safe to say that bout will either be cancelled or Jericho finds another partner.
The past two months have seen Omega and Jericho work mostly opposite the Don Callis Family. That feud seemed over, with the makeshift team then working The Young Bucks.
By defeating The Young Bucks, the former AEW World Champions kept their title shot.
Between November 2021 and August 2022, Omega took a long hiatus from AEW. He was dealing with several injuries, including a hernia and some bad knees.
Not long ago, AEW re-signed Omega and The Elite to longer deals. Before that, there was some talk of WWE trying to hire the group.
Whatever the case is, we hope Omega a safe and speedy recovery.
