Matt Hardy Frustrated With AEW Booking Of The Hardys

When looking at the AEW roster, a few points are quickly made. They have great talent, but also too many names.

Therefore, plenty of wrestlers are not booked. And, when they are, the match has little story behind it.

Matt Hardy joined AEW in March 2020. He arrived with the Broken gimmick, although it never clicked as fans were not present because of the pandemic.

By early 2022, Jeff Hardy followed his brother. His WWE exit was not as smooth as he left in the middle of a match.

With both bothers part of AEW, Tony Khan jumped to put them together.

While speaking on the Extreme Life With Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy was honest about being frustrated with the lack of storylines.

“Just creatively like just the way we’ve been utilized, like the last four months, it’s been very frustrating,” said Matt. “We’ve been very patient, but there has been a lot of frustration with things we’ve done and kind of how we’ve been utilized in some ways.”

“So, I feel like the natural thing to play off of is like channel that frustration and kind of put it into what we’re doing. And to those people, if they hate us, we will give them a reason to hate us.”

“You know what I mean? And there’s something we can do there to evolve our characters and once again reinvent into something we’ve never done.”

The Hardy Boys And Private Party

Not long after reuniting in AEW, Jeff Hardy was suspended and sent to rehab. Jeff did his time and they are back together.

Still, they have mostly worked with Private Party. Fans thought they would be in the tag team picture, but they are not even close.
