When it comes to pro wrestling, few have been part of the top promotions. Then, there are The Hardy Boyz.

While Jeff Hardy has been pushed better in a singles position, Matt Hardy got a decent push as well. He might be best known for his time WWE, but he also worked in ROH, Impact Wrestling and now AEW.

A few years back, WWE brought the brothers back. They worked as a tag team again while also pursing a singles career.

At that point, WWE allowed Matt to use his ‘Broken’ or ‘Woken’ gimmick that he made popular in Impact Wrestling. Like before, Matt and Jeff would eventually depart WWE.

WWE wrote Matt Hardy off TV by having Randy Orton attack him. This was happening as WWE prepared their Orton – Edge program.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, apparently Matt Hardy nixed a Triple H offer that would see him bring the ‘Broken’ persona to NXT.

Triple H gave me a very generous offer to wrestle in NXT and do some my Broken Matt,” said Hardy. “Maybe give me a little bit of a stable, and then still be able to supplement that by being a backstage producer with WWE.”

After heading to AEW, Matt did bring the ‘Broken’ character. The problem was AEW had no fans with lockdowns. Therefore, the gimmick just felt off.

Tony Khan was not a major fan either. So, he had Matt drop that and he sort of got lost in the mix. There seemed to be big plans once Jeff joined AEW.

Yet, Jeff was removed from TV following another DUI charge. Jeff recently returned to TV with Matt, but being away for so long and age is playing a role.
