Mark Briscoe recently got quite upset with a tweet posted by WWE Fox during this past Friday Night SmackDown. While he was quick to react, he also took the time to explain why he was so angry. More on this story, below.

Mark Briscoe Explains His Actions

WWE Fox referred to the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley as “Dem Boyz” in a tweet during a recent episode of SmackDown. As many fans are aware, this was a phrase used to refer to The Briscoe brothers.

Mark and his brother Jay were undeniably one of the best tag teams of their generation. Sadly, Jay Briscoe passed away earlier this year on January 17th in a car crash.

Upon seeing the WWE Fox post on X/Twitter, Mark re-tweeted that whoever posted this should be fired or need the “taste” slapped out of their mouth due to lack of reverence. He even tagged Triple H on his tweet.

Some fans rallied around Briscoe to get the unknown person fired. Some fans lashed out at Mark for what he wrote.

Regardless, he would hop on X/Twitter after the fact to retract his statement. He notes that he’s still dealing with grief.

Mark also once again tagged HHH in that second tweet stating that no one should be fired. He also wrote this is the reason why he stopped posting on X/Twitter.

Mark Briscoe Gets Support

Interestingly enough, Maria Kanellis, current AEW star, and former WWE talent, who spent a big chunk of her career in Ring of Honor (ROH) retweeted Mark Briscoe’s original “firing” post. She also created a new post that supported Mark’s sentiments at the time.

She too faced a ton of backlash from fans. So much so, that she’s decided to take a break from X/Twitter, for the time being.

In a post, she claims that she’s received threats against her family, as well as ageism, sexism, and family planning shaming remarks. She has opened a Facebook account and notes she’s keeping her Instagram account open for the time being.
