Triple H was the first official to comment on CM Punk returning to WWE following his shocking appearance to close Survivor Series.
Triple H Defends CM Punk WWE Return At Survivor Series
From start to finish, Survivor Series was a major hit. Maybe, it was the best installment of the yearly tradition in decades.
Besides some great matches, WWE had one surprise that they waited until the end to reveal. Survivor Series closed with CM Punk retuning to WWE after almost ten years away.
During the post-show press conference, Triple H went over how the deal was made and defend his choice.
“He’s a magnet for that. He’s a conversation starter, and it’s hard to look past that. To me, if the fans want it, and the WWE Universe is excited to have it, let’s go and we’ll figure things out from there.”
“There was a lot of speculation, and at the time there was nothing, and it didn’t come together until everyone stopped thinking it was gonna happen. Then all of a sudden, it was happening.”
“But, I’m extremely excited. You know, a lot of time has gone by, almost ten years.”
The Past Is The Past
“And, if you’re the same person you were ten years ago, you’re messed up. Everyone grows, everyone changes.”
“I’m a different person. He’s a different person. It’s a different company, and we’re all on the even starting ground.”
“We’re thrilled to have him back home in WWE, where he belongs.”
At one point, it felt like neither side would ever do business with each other again. Like they always say in pro wrestling, never say never.
It should be a busy news week for WWE. We are yet to hear from Punk, but that could happen come Monday’s RAW.
So, did Triple H make the right call for WWE by brining back CM Punk?
